You got 10 Lousy Bucks?
The folks at Collingswood
Community Theater really HATE asking people for money. But they hate the
idea
of not being able to produce quality plays with community actors even
more than
begging. We've been watching the economic news intently lately and like
the
rest of you we've been vacillating between screaming and curling into
the fetal
position and weeping.
But NO MORE! Normally this is
where you'd find a standard issue (and entirely accurate) statement
about the
importance of the Arts in society and the rapidly growing divide between
production costs and ticket sales. In all seriousness, with costs rising
in
advertising, costumes, sets and other factors required to continue
plying our
wares in Collingswood business is, as they say, tight. And with
Community
Theatre, every penny counts.
We need your help to raise
$3000 for our 2011 productions! That’s three thousand dollars, people!
So, we were sittin' around, between dreaming up exciting theatre
projects,
questioning the effectiveness - for a company our size - of those
contribution
solicitation letters that everyone gets this time of year. We're fairly
certain
that most of them end up in the trash, and a campaign like that can get
pretty
pricey between the printing, the envelopes, the postage, etc. Not to
mention,
it kills trees. That's not good. At CCT we like trees.
Plus, we wanna spread the net
wide instead of deep. So, we're asking for TEN *LOUSY* BUCKS from 300
people. In this economy, every little bit helps, so we're asking for a
little bit, just ten lousy bucks. By this time next week, you probably
won't
even notice $10 gone, so give us a hand. We're asking for ten lousy
bucks.
You'll be listed on this
website and in the program and considered a friend and VIP. If you send
more then ten lousy bucks, you’ll get your name in even bigger print in
our program and website. So, if you could see your way clear to sending
